About Sharadha

CELTA-Certified English Language Mentor | Award-Winning Educator
BITS Pilani Graduate | Postgraduate in Instructional Design | 15+ Years Experience

I offer personalised and structured mentoring to help learners develop strong English writing skills. The sessions focus on clear expression, organised writing, effective vocabulary, and practical writing techniques for academic and professional communication.

I am the Winner of the CENTA International Teacher’s Olympiad (English) 2024 and have consistently ranked among the Top 10 nationally in previous editions. With a Master’s degree from BITS Pilani and a postgraduate qualification in Instructional Design, I combine strong subject expertise with well-planned and practical teaching methods.

With over 15 years of teaching experience, I work with school students, college learners, and motivated adult learners who want to write clearly and communicate their ideas effectively in English. My approach is organised, supportive, and focused on steady improvement rather than short-term fixes.

WRITING DEVELOPMENT APPROACH

My mentoring begins by understanding the learner’s current ability, goals, and areas that need improvement.

Based on this, I create a step-by-step plan that focuses on:
- Building clear and grammatically accurate sentences
- Developing well-structured paragraphs and organised pieces of writing
- Improving clarity, coherence, and flow of ideas
- Expanding vocabulary and using words appropriately in context
- Practising different types of writing such as descriptive, academic, analytical, and professional writing
- Learning editing and revision techniques to refine written work

With regular practice and constructive feedback, learners begin to see clearer expression, better organisation of ideas, and greater confidence in writing.

STUDENT IMPACT

- Students show noticeable improvement in clarity, organisation, and vocabulary.
- Many learners progress from brief or hesitant responses to confident, well-structured writing.
- Some students have published articles in newspapers and online platforms after focused mentoring.
- Learners preparing for academic and competitive exams improve the quality and structure of their written answers.

WHO I WORK WITH

I work best with learners who:
- Want to develop strong English writing skills
- Are willing to practise regularly and improve step by step
- Value clear guidance and detailed feedback
- Prefer steady skill development rather than last-minute exam preparation

I also work closely with parents to maintain clear goals and consistent progress.

If you are looking for structured mentoring to develop clear and confident English writing, feel free to get in touch to discuss your goals and suitability.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

I have extensive experience in teaching Communicative English, Business English, and IELTS to people of different age groups with diverse backgrounds and language proficiency levels. I also coach for various exams focusing on English language skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening). My interest in English was fuelled by my love for reading and listening to short stories and folktales. As a child writer, I published stories in newspapers and magazines. My teachers at school played an important role in inspiring me to pursue a career in teaching English.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My grandfather was a professor in reputed institutions for nearly five decades. He had a strong influence on my decision to choose the teaching profession. I was fortunate to be mentored by him throughout my schooling. I discovered my affinity for the English language under his guidance and support. His remarkable ability to impact people's lives resonates with me even today as I strive to inspire students to develop curiosity and interest in learning.
  • How does your work help society?

I believe effective communication plays a crucial role in shaping a connected, inclusive, harmonious, and empathetic society. At an individual level, it fosters personal growth and professional success. It also empowers individuals to actively engage in diverse social and cultural environments. Furthermore, language proficiency opens doors to educational and employment opportunities at a global level. This equips individuals to achieve their dreams and aspirations and make meaningful contributions to society. As a language teacher, my objective is to inspire students to recognize and utilize the power of effective communication. By guiding them toward achieving their language proficiency goals, I strive to empower them to thrive and excel in their personal and professional endeavors.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role model is my grandfather. He was an exceptional teacher, mentor, and guide who showed me the path to follow my passion. He instilled curiosity in students and encouraged them to explore the subjects at their own pace. Many students he mentored did exceptionally well in their professional life and always remained in touch with him. This is a testament to the profound impact he had on their lives! I am motivated to carry forward this legacy and use the power of education to empower students and foster a genuine love for learning by providing a supportive and nurturing environment.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I love trekking as it brings me close to nature. I find joy in immersing myself in the world of music, especially when I am stressed. As a story-lover, I watch movies and talk shows quite often. If I desire a mental workout, I become engrossed in solving puzzles. Furthermore, I have developed a flair for cooking and enjoy creating delicious and healthy dishes. These diverse interests bring balance and fulfillment to an otherwise hectic life.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

Over the past decade, I have worked with numerous students from diverse backgrounds. However, a truly unique and unforgettable experience was the opportunity to teach parents, teachers, and students at a rural school. I was given complete freedom to design the Communicative English curriculum, create interactive activities, and mentor the students to participate in an exclusive "Spoken English Exhibition" organized by the school. I hold this transformative experience very close to my heart as it laid the foundation for my customized student-centric approach to language teaching.
