About Monty
I have always dedicated my free time to music ever since I was in school and know that music has shaped the person I am today. I believe that all children should have the opportunity to experience how amazing music is and want to do my bit in inspiring the next generation! Personally, I have sung with multiple well-respected choral groups including Voces8, Ex Cathedra and the Choir of the Tower of London and have years of experience coaching in schools through my work with Elevate Education. I graduated from the University of Birmingham in the summer of 2024 where I studied Music and Spanish, and whilst I have decided to focus on Singing as my career, I also play the cello and tenor saxophone both to a high level. One thing I can guarantee for certain is a passion for music that I'm hoping I can pass on to any of my students.

(Enhanced DBS Checked) The main thing I hope to pass on in our sessions is a love of music! Having been involved in music workshops across the country and also in America and Central Europe, I know how powerful music can be as a tool for motivation, teamwork, cognitive development, expression and self-esteem. I will look to do this in the sessions through splitting lessons into two sections: the first of which will focus on singing technique and repertoire (the genre of which can be decided by you) and the second of which will focus on a wider appreciation of music. This second section can be customised and steered by you, but see below for some examples! Sessions can be either 30 minutes or an hour. Examples of what could be covered in the singing section: - Interval training, holding a tune - Vocal technique: how to support your sound, resonance, breathing, vibrato - Warm-up exercises - Changing timbre for different genres - Repertoire (Classical, Musical Theatre, Jazz or Pop) Examples of what could be covered in the second section: - A discussion on a specific artist or album - A deep-dive into a particular era of music - Music theory - Examples of music shaping politics - Anything else you want to bring to the sessions!
