About Emma
I'm Emma, and I'm working towards my Doctorate in Food Sciences at the University of Nottingham, having acheived a 2:1 in my BSc (Hons) Food Sciences at the same Univeristy.
I really enjoy tutoring students, and working together to improve their abilities in their challenging topics and areas. My previous students have shown progress after just one or two lessons, either on a specific topic or working through past papers together to improve their exam technique. When we have a longer programme of lessons I have been able to work with the student to really improve a their knowledge of a subject, and really look at how they approach and answer exam questions.
I use a range of videos, past exam questions, fill-in-the-gaps, and other activities to keep the students engaged. Where necessary I have provided additional practice questions for students to use and practice topics in their own time. This is always when I the student understands the topics and processes, and just needs additional practice.
Lessons are planned and designed around the student, whether it's a particular peice of homework their struggling with, a small topic, or an entire subject that they're struggling with.
