About Dmitri
I am currently an educator. I teach high school special education math and science, and I work as an adjunct faculty member at Central New Mexico Community College. I have been teaching since 2013, and enjoy working with students in an effort to help them break through the barriers sometimes encountered in math and science studies.

I have a background working with diverse populations, which I feel serving in the Military as a United States Marine provided. My teaching philosophy is simple but effective, I strongly believe that fostering critical thinking skills is at the heart of what we do in education. I see my role as not only providing answers but encouraging students to ask the important questions, through the use of case studies, real-life examples, and thought-provoking questions. I prioritize my relationship with them and model the behaviors I want to see in students through good communication and a genuine interest in understanding other perspectives. I encourage students to consider their role and how they fit in society, while remaining committed to giving students the tools they need to see their own value, analyze information and situations, and effectively solve problems.
