About Hanna

I believe Science can be a truly fascinating subject for every student and I would like to give my tutees the tools to discover it in a friendly atmosphere. On my long journey in education I’ve discovered the importance of discovering how we learn best and I’m very enthusiastic about sharing that knowledge with others.

Ever since high school I've been involved in science workshops and festivals, aiming to make science fascinating and accessible to everyone. Having been educated in Poland before coming to Cambridge, I have a wide view of different educational systems and I'm very flexible in adjusting to the personal needs of pupils. I’m experienced in working with students applying to Oxbridge colleges - including going through the application process, helping with personal statements and most importantly preparing them for interviews. As a silver medalist of the Polish National Biology Olympiad, I've tutored younger students competing in the championships. I've also been involved in peer-to-peer teaching both at school and at university level.

About the lesson

My sessions are based on a dialogue, rather than a lecture, which naturally makes students more inquiring and interested in the topic. There are no questions too silly to ask and I believe a friendly atmosphere is the key to boosting the student’s confidence and success - if you enjoy something, you'll remember it! When preparing for an exam, I would like us to identify the strong and weak points by organising a mock and then make a plan of how to go through the material. When solving particular problems, I would like us to focus on active learning - for example by doing practice questions. Finding out how one learns best is the crucial part of studying any subject and as a tutor I would like to discover just that with my students, adjusting the sessions on individual basis.
