About Athena

I will help people learn and practise speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in Spanish, English, Portuguese and Italian. Whether it is for help with schoolwork and tests, towards GCSE or A-Level qualifications or anyone who just wants to learn and/or perfect a language. I have studied Spanish for 8 years now and achieved grade A* at A-Level. I am currently completing a Hispanic Studies with Italian undergraduate degree at the University of Liverpool. I passed the first year of the course with a first, including two prizes for best performance in Portuguese and Hispanic Studies. In this degree I am continuing to study Spanish, Portuguese and Italian language, as well as studying the culture, history, politics and literature of countries which speak these languages. I have tutoring experience from tutoring school students in Key Stages 3 and 4 as well as friends and family. I have been told that I explain things clearly, cover topics in depth and make learning interesting. I am happy to plan out a series of sessions in line with the goals of the student or to go through work with students that they would like help with. I will set homework tasks for tutees to complete in-between sessions to consolidate material we cover and will mark any work they would like to be marked. I have a passion for learning languages and experiencing different cultures. I am also interested in art, origami, exercise, singing, dancing and cooking.
