About Calum
I am an experienced, knowledgeable Science teacher (QTS, PGCE w/distinction) specialising in biology but with a breadth and detail of knowledge across Sciences, Mathematics and English.
My subject knowledge has been developed over the course of my own secondary education, 2 degree courses, and then refined through teaching experience. I understand the current syllabus, the fundamentals needed for students to succeed, and modern developments and inter-disciplinary links to deepen engagement.
I have worked in education for many years in a variety of roles, as a Teacher, an assistant, and a childminder, and can bring this experience to tutoring, creating tailored, informative and engaging content and building trust and understanding with students.
My communication, organisation, punctuality and personal presentation are impeccable, refined in a variety of professional environments. I understand the vital importance for students of having a reliable figure they feel they can respect if they are to learn and invest in the topic at hand.
