About ELLEN
I am currently a tutor. I taught ESL during my long tenure of graduate school and beyond. I taught everyone from beginner to highly advanced, from individual to large classes, from basic skills to TOEFL, GMAT and beyond. The last couple of years I have taught programming too. I was a programmer for quite a few years and have been teaching Python, SQL, HTML, Javascript, PHP and other skills.

One of my teaching approaches is engaging students in the actual process of learning. I have them try and figure out how to solve a problem (for programming) or clever ways of using and expanding their English skills (ESL). Hands on learning is a big deal. People must learn to think and absorb.
