~TEACHING METHODOLOGY~
I utilise a communicative language approach informed by postgraduate studies in linguistics and language development. Students learn best when they are interested in the content and able to relate their learning to everyday experiences. I focus on highly interactive activities including word puzzles, memory games, matching tasks, songs, movement and media. Students develop their literacy skills through conversation, video quizzes, shared reading and oral language tasks. Lessons are individualised to meet the learning goals of the student.
~WHO SHOULD TAKE MY CLASS?~
My lessons are for ages 3+, with a specific focus on Early Childhood and Primary aged children. All levels and abilities can be catered for, as lessons are developed with the student's goals in mind. I utilise an online format that is easy to navigate for young learners. Lessons may be 1-1, small groups or sibling pairs, depending on student needs.
~LESSON INFORMATION~
Depending on age and confidence level, I recommend 30-minute, 45-minute or 60-minute classes at least twice per week.
~QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE~
I have a postgraduate qualification in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from the University of Technology Sydney and am currently in my final year of a Master of Primary Teaching program. I have been working as a private ESL tutor for 3 years for students of diverse linguistic backgrounds, including Chinese, Russian and French. I worked in a private ESL school in Paris for 12 months whilst living abroad and have continued with students from France via Zoom now that I am back in Australia!
