About Robert
Although English is not my first language, I practised to such a high level that I speak and write as well as anybody. So I understand what it is like to come from a language background other than English. I actually know five languages.
I have been a teacher for 38 years and have had a large number of students whose first language was not English. For example, some of my students have come from Turkey, Russia, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina.
I am also a poet and musician who performs regularly in front of audiences.

My teaching style is very much about what the student needs. Everyone is different, has a different way of learning, is at a different standard. It is my job to find the way of learning which works best for you. I imagine you will bring your textbooks or any book you are reading, and : 1) you will read and speak to me; 2) I will read and speak to you; 3) you may write some English for me, because that will give you a chance to think about your grammar and vocabulary; 4) we may watch some videos together so you can hear the many different accents that English speakers all over the world use, which are not always easy to understand. But, I will say that all my students always say that they have no trouble understanding me speak!
