About Sarah

I have always been fascinated by the English language and enjoyed writing and presenting in high school, tertiary institutions and various professional roles. I studied English literature and performance in high school and enrolled in journalism and marketing units as part of my communications degree. Since 2006 I’ve worked in a variety of professional environments and roles including customer service, client relationship management, childcare, media release writing and natural therapies. Now, I am following my passion for communication by teaching English as a second language. I am a positive, encouraging, empathetic and patient person and have a strong desire to support and inspire others to achieve success. My approach combines professionalism with a warm, encouraging atmosphere, ensuring that every student feels motivated and understood. I can’t wait to meet you and support you to become more confident in using the English language!

About the lesson

I follow the CELTA format for teaching, which is a logical and effective process of teaching. My lessons cover the meaning, pronunciation and form of new vocabulary and provide ample opportunity to practice the essential skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. Grammar fundamentals and functional language are also explored, providing a comprehensive curriculum for students. Lessons are student-centered and last for about 1 hour. Each lesson focuses on the skills or language that the student would like to improve in. I have taught beginners all the way to upper intermediate students and enjoy supporting learners at every level. I am open-minded and flexible and work with students to achieve their unique goals.
