About Helen Louise

I am a teacher with a lot of experience teaching/tutoring, and one who is patient and who enjoys teaching young people, or even just acting as a sound board for them.

Some students have stayed with me for as long as 3 years and seem to like the way I help them overcome difficulties in language learning, critical analysis of texts, and the variety I provide in the content of classes.

I am also very interested in the arts and am a practising and exhibiting painter.

About the lesson

I have a Master of Arts and Diploma of Education in LOTE and ESL. I have over 20 years of experience in teaching English and ESL and languages. I have taught here and overseas. I teach both secondary and tertiary students.
I like to encourage to speak about their interests without worry. Any corrections can be spoken about later. I like to teach structured lessons that focus on the four language skills, plus some attention to grammar and spelling. However, the last two will not dominate the lesson. I also ensure classes around students' interests, hobbies and hopes for the future.
Classes generally last 1-1.5hours, but can be held more than once a week if you like.
