About Catherine

I am a psychotherapist and copyeditor living in Bristol, UK. I have worked as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader for the last 6 years and helped many students pass their course. About the lesson

I tutor university students in academic essay writing. I also proofread dissertations and essays, particularly for EFL students and students with dyslexia.

I assist students who are either new to academic writing, or who don’t yet feel confident writing an academic essay. I also help students who need to rewrite papers that haven’t yet passed.

Academic writing is a particular form and skill. Many students know their subjects well and have really good ideas but don’t feel confident writing academically. I firmly believe that academic writing is a skill that can be learnt and often students haven’t been taught explicitly how to do it.

I support students with their assignments from the initial planning to the final proofread.

We will first discuss your essay title and thoughts and, together, we will create a bespoke essay plan for you to follow. I will help you order your thoughts and produce work of a high academic standard.

Essay tutoring - £55 per session
EFL Proofreading - £17 per 1000 words
