About Sanette
I am an Artist with a BA DRAMATIC ART HONORS degree from The University of the Witwatersrand, which I obtained in 1985. In my final year I directed the Greek Classical play, "Oedipus Rex". I designed the costumes, props and decor, with my student group, choreographed the dance and composed the music with the music students I caste in my play. After the completion of my Degree, I worked on many films, mostly as the Art Director. I taught Art, both privately and at Institutions. The biggest project I worked on for 3 consecutive years, was The Heritage Day Walk, initiated by Dali Tambo. It had 25000 participants. Continuing in Art, I worked closely with Function Coordinators and Set Dressers. Currently I am working as a Production Coordinator for a private music Studio on North-cliff Hill. Over the years I have taken on many Art Related jobs, each one with it's own Challenges and Rewards. The nature of the profession requires that I take other Artist, students, apprentices or Technical experts and helpers with me. This is an invaluable experience for both professionals and students.

For me a formal or informal workshop has always been the best. It gives the student a little freedom to add his own personal flavor to the project. Usually I would explain the project, show examples of similar projects, explain technical requirements, and teach necessary skills, as they are needed for the project at hand; like a briefing for a professional client. I guide the students throughout the project, pointing out both good qualities in their technique, as well as shortfalls. I suggest improvements or alternative ideas. At the assessment of the final Art work or project I give credit and feedback.
