About Tim

I've spent over 15 years chiseling out a career across film, television, and theatre. After graduating from QUT with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) in 2010, I built my foundations in the theatre, starring in acclaimed productions like Tender Napalm at the Old Fitz Theatre and Ghost Stories at the Sydney Opera House.

I played Colby Thorne, the local cop on Home & Away for 3 years (miss that uniform), where I appeared in over 320 episodes. My recent work includes starring in David Leitch's blockbuster The Fall Guy alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, and featuring in the Netflix war epic Before Dawn, which hit #1 in Australia. More recently, I've just wrapped filming on Love Birds, a Breathless Films production set to premiere in 2025.

My television credits include The Moth Effect and the critically acclaimed Last King of the Cross, where I starred opposite Callan Mulvey in the #1 Australian series on Paramount+.

As fun as hitchhiking onto other people's projects is, I've decided to make my own creative mark by establishing The Film Actors Studio in Byron Bay, where I teach every week. Here is where I get to play. My love for teaching and supporting emerging talent has become my great passion. It inspires me every single week.

When I'm not on set or coaching, I'm embracing the beautiful chaos of fatherhood - surfing and chasing my two-year-old daughter, and attempting the near-impossible task of applying sunscreen. With another child on the way, life is an exciting, unpredictable adventure. Just the way i like it :)

About the lesson

I’ve studied at uni and honed my craft on stages and sets, exploring and testing a variety of techniques, including those of Eric Morris, Stanislavski, Meisner, and Stella Adler. My approach to acting has become a Frankenstein’s monster of techniques. I've taken tools from each school and kept only what works best for me. That’s exactly what I offer my students: a tool belt filled with a variety of methods, allowing you to pick and choose whats best for you and curate your own creative approach.

In all honesty, after all these years, it really boils down to one simple thing for me. While there’s plenty of work to be done (and don’t worry, we’ll do it!), the most important part is to meet the work with relaxation and radical gentleness. We perform everything better when we’re relaxed. It allows us to get out of our own way. We need to engage with the creative world from that place. Come learn how!
