About Ethan
I am a student at Georgetown University studying Economics and Mathematics with a 3.8 GPA and a strong academic background in Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. As someone currently taking Calculus II, I work with advanced math concepts every day and understand how to explain them clearly to students who may be seeing them for the first time.
In addition to academics, I played semi-professional soccer from ages 14–18, which helped me develop discipline, communication skills, and the ability to work with and mentor others. I bring that same patience and commitment to tutoring, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in math.

My approach as a tutor focuses on building a strong conceptual understanding rather than just memorizing formulas. I start by identifying the specific areas where a student is struggling and then break complex problems into clear, manageable steps. During a typical lesson, we review key concepts, work through example problems together, and then practice similar problems so the student can apply the method independently. I encourage students to ask questions and explain their reasoning so they truly understand the material. My lessons are best suited for middle school, high school, and early college students taking Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus I who want to improve their confidence and problem-solving skills in math.
