About IVY
I am a flexible teacher of English because I understand that all students learn in different ways and at different paces. I have been giving private lessons since 2012 and I have been tutoring the foreign students at regular class bases. I have a degree in Education (ARTS). My major subject combination is English and Literature. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters in Linguistics at Kenyatta University. My main goal as a teacher of English is to ensure learning and positive growth in society.

When teaching, I make sure that every student has a grasp of the subject before moving on. I cannot say that I prefer one method to another. Each method has certain benefits and should be applied in some situations. In one class I may prefer explaining. Then in some other classes, students are more creative, so I may prefer collaborating. I typically try to apply various methods and observe the reaction of the students, measuring both their progress and interest. After a few lessons I typically know which method works with them, and which does not. My goal is to make a student's experience unknown, the lessons not to be routine, or boring.
