About Hayden
Hi, I’m Hayden — an experienced tutor and mentor specializing in K–10 English and Math, as well as Music.
I’m passionate about helping students grow not just academically, but in confidence and self-belief. I thrive on personal growth and genuinely care about the progress of every student I work with. My approach is structured and explicit: I break concepts down step-by-step, model skills clearly, and ensure students fully understand before moving forward. I believe clarity builds confidence, and confidence builds results.
With strong familiarity of the NSW syllabi and repeated experience teaching across multiple year levels, I understand how skills develop over time and how to identify and address learning gaps effectively. I specialize in one-to-one tutoring, where I can tailor each lesson to the individual, adapt in real time, and build meaningful mentor relationships that support long-term success.
I also deliver high-quality online lessons using professional equipment and interactive software, ensuring sessions are engaging, hands-on and productive.
My goal is simple: to help students feel capable, supported and proud of their progress.

My Approach to Tutoring:
I take a structured, explicit teaching approach that balances clarity, creativity, and confidence-building. Whether teaching mathematics or music, I focus on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and ensuring students truly understand the “why” behind what they are learning.
My methodology includes:
- Explicit instruction – clear modeling, guided practice, and independent application.
- Scaffolded learning – building skills progressively to ensure strong foundations.
- Differentiated teaching – adapting tasks to suit individual ability levels and learning styles.
- Active engagement – interactive activities, discussion, and real-world application.
- Consistent feedback – ongoing check-ins to monitor understanding and celebrate progress.
In music, I combine technical skill development, theory understanding, and structured practice techniques to help students practice effectively — not just longer, but smarter. In mathematics and programming, I emphasize logical thinking, problem-solving strategies, and conceptual understanding.
Typical Lesson Length:
Most lessons run for 60 minutes, structured to include:
- Warm-up or revision
-Explicit teaching of new content
- Guided practice
- Independent application
- Time for questions and reflection
Longer sessions are available for senior students or exam preparation.
Qualifications & Experience:
I have experience teaching and programming lessons for students Kindergarten through Year 12. I have delivered explicit, curriculum-aligned lessons in:
- Mathematics (K–6)
- Programming and logical thinking (K–12)
- Music practice, performance skills, and theory (K–12)
My experience includes working with students of varying abilities, supporting both extension learners and those needing additional foundational support.
