About Caitlyn
I have always had a passion for English, having completed Extension English and Advanced English (band 6) for the HSC, and enjoy reading a wide variety of texts in my spare time. I also enjoy seeing students thrive and achieve strong results. Seeing student progress is very rewarding for me; I emphasise teaching analytical skills and critical thinking so that students can develop these skills for future studies. I am in my final year of Law and Social Political Sciences and therefore understand the importance of developing strong writing/essay skills and learning how to write succinctly.

I take a tailored approach with my students with a focus on building skills for them to achieve results and critical thinking on their own. I often emphasise getting students to explain and expand on their own thoughts and ideas and draw my own knowledge and prior experience to enhance students’ work. I have a strong love of English and enjoy seeing students thrive and achieve strong results. I also always go through feedback, as provided by teachers, to ensure students meet required assessment criteria. I ask students for their required texts so I can read or view it (for related films) myself.
