English

Hi, I’m Ashley, an experienced academic advisor and college success coach. My approach focuses on practical strategies, personalized guidance, and skill-building that help students not just complete assignments but truly thrive academically. I combine my background in counseling with proven study techniques and academic planning methods to meet each student’s individual needs.

Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a developmental and student-centered approach, meaning I first assess each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style. I integrate:

Active learning techniques (guided practice, interactive exercises, self-reflection)

Structured study strategies (note-taking systems, time management tools, goal setting)

Writing support (organization, thesis development, paragraph structure)

Accountability check-ins to ensure progress and skill retention

A Typical Lesson Plan

Assessment and goal setting – Identify immediate goals and long-term academic objectives.

Mini-lecture / guided instruction – Introduce the skill or concept for the session.

Interactive practice – Apply strategies to real assignments or examples.

Reflection and feedback – Discuss what worked, what needs improvement, and next steps.

Actionable takeaway – Give a small, doable task to practice before the next session.

What Sets Me Apart

I bring practical academic advising experience and real-world knowledge from higher education.

I focus on skills that carry beyond the classroom, like self-advocacy, organization, and independent learning.

My lessons are customized for each student, rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
