About Miryam
Certified and experienced native Spanish teacher that uses her passion for the richness of languages to connect students to the class material. I studied a Modern Languages Philology and a postgraduate degree in Applied Linguistics and Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, which made me learn to manage proper language acquisition in different educational contexts. Moreover, I learnt to modify assignments and activities to meet the learning needs of individual students as well as prepare course work and plan class sessions.
As for my experience, I have been giving private lessons for 8 years in Spanish, English and French. All these years have trained me to teach my native language (Spanish) in all levels from A2 to C1, to people of different ages, abilities and nationalities.
My last job as a teacher in Spain was in the Superior Aviation School, where I planned, evaluated and revised curricula and methods of instruction to keep my students motivated and focused on the importance of languages in aviation.
After moving to Manchester, where I live now, I started giving private lessons to GCSE and A-levels students so that they could make the most of their Spanish exams, as an extra income. I have been teaching GCSE and A-levels for 3 years now, always securing the best outcomes for all pupils. Apart from doing that in the evenings, I am currently working as a Spanish lecturer in the Language Centre at university.
