About Maria

I have a degree in languages and have been working as a private language tutor for over ten years. I have tutored students of various ages and backgrounds with excellent exam results and successful outcomes in terms of language fluency.

Some client reviews:

Laila (French GCSE)

"maria is truly a wonderful tutor. not only was she encouraging at patient, but also made sure that my daughter was able to achieve the grade that she wanted. at the beginning of year 10, she was getting grade 5s in french but in her actual GCSEs, she managed to get a 9!! She really couldn’t have done it without maria and her help. Highly recommend Maria as an xcellent tutor."

"Maria has been great at helping us gain confidence in our limited French and
push us hard to demonstrate our learning. It was amazing how much I retained
from my old school days in terms or vocabulary and Maria is helping to bring
that all together. The lessons are fun and intuitive and I would recommend Maria
to others looking to learn. I am just in the process of renewing my lessons for
the new term ahead and very much looking forward to seeing the improvements I can
make under her tutorage."

"Maria is a remarkable tutor with a broad range of teaching skills and a lot of
patience and adaptability to her student`s needs! We have contacted her for my
boyfriend`s mother who could barely speak English and is also struggling with
attention and focussing issues and we can say she has done an excellent job!
We could see the improvement from the very first months and she really progressed
since they started working together. Teaching a second language to adults who only
speak their native tongue is quite a difficult task and we can`t recommend her enough
for the job, she`s a pro!"

About the lesson

I split my lessons between grammar and vocabulary practice using various media. I teach thoroughly and aim to leave nothing unclarified as well as to adapt my method to the individual needs of each pupil. My aim is to find a perfect balance between theory and its application in a creative and stimulating way.

Perfect! Amazing session today from a guardian’s perspective. I really think Ariana will benefit with the way you teach and explained to her how important it is to think deep and open up your mind, not to complicate it but start with the basics and build on!

Perfect! I’m a beginner in learning French. Maria is very patient and has a positive, supportive manner. Every lesson we go through my homework and she explains areas that l may have struggled with. Our lesson is set at a good pace and l’m beginning to feel confident to speak the language. Every lesson is different and set at my level. Me and Maria studied together and also lived for two years in the same house. Apart from the fact that she proved to be a trustworthy person she is easy to work with and has a great sense of humor. Maria has a lot of patience, she is emphatic and her pedagogical skills are well developed and updated, in relation with the needs of the students. I strongly recommend her as a tutor.

I have known Maria for a few years now, as we are both actors, and can recommend her wholeheartedly. She is highly intelligent, conscientious, creative, able to achieve complicated objectives, think outside the box but able to keep her feet on the ground. An enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated individual and a real people person.

Maria is an amazing person and a wonderful friend. I will always remember how many times we discussed the empowerment aspect of learning and how important it is to make it practical and natural in the same time. Maria is very passionate about teaching and translates the abstract information into very coherent guidance. I highly recommend her.

The rate shown is for online tuition. Travel costs are added to home tuition, and surcharges may apply on weekends.

Kindly consider that the purpose of the first free lesson is for the pupil and tutor to get to know each other a little bit and for the tutor to get a sense of the pupil's level and method of learning. With this in mind, please only request a trial lesson if you are genuinely interested in taking lessons with a tutor, as opposed to "auditioning" them for the role. We offer this lesson at no charge in order to build a good rapport with future clients, not so much for those who shop around for their favourite and sample a few others in the process. Thank you for understanding :)
