As a tutor, my approach is rooted in the Feynman Technique and the Socratic Method, both of which are designed to deepen understanding and encourage critical thinking. The Feynman Technique involves simplifying complex concepts and explaining them as if teaching a child. This method includes four steps: selecting a concept to learn, teaching it to a child, reviewing and refining your understanding, and organizing your notes for regular review
.On the other hand, is a teaching technique based on questioning, student response, and teacher feedback. It challenges students to upend assumptions and illuminate ideas, often leading them to explore and refine their understanding through deep reflection and further questioning

. A typical lesson plan in my Shotokan Karate classes covers foundational movements, kata (pre-arranged fight sequences), self-improvement, stances (Tachikata), punches (Tsuki), blocks (Uke), and warm-ups and stretching exercises
. The training goals for Shotokan Karate include perfecting body alignment and concentration required for actual combat
. The training program is developed around the curriculum and target areas that need improvement, including warm-ups, stretching, learning techniques for the specific belt level, repetition of techniques, perfecting one-steps and self-defense, and perfecting kata
.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my use of the Socratic method, which involves engaging in a two-way dialogue with students, using cues to push them to discover answers on their own. This approach of engaging in a dialogue rather than telling makes my teaching method highly effective
.
The karate lessons are designed for individuals of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. The Japan Karate Association (JKA) emphasizes rigorous training to develop the mind, body, and spirit, indicating that the training is comprehensive and suitable for individuals seeking holistic development

. The training plans are designed to cater to different belt levels, with a focus on perfecting techniques, repetition of movements, and self-defense skills

. The lessons may involve comparing and contrasting Shotokan karate with other martial arts, inviting instructors to work with students, and incorporating different training plans for various topics

. Therefore, the karate lessons are inclusive and cater to individuals at different skill levels, offering a comprehensive approach to training and development.
