About Stamatios

I have a PhD in Interdisciplinary Mathematics and Complexity Science at the Centre for Complexity Science, University of Warwick, two master’s degrees in applied mathematics (Imperial College London) and Mathematical Finance (Queen Mary, University of London), and a BSc (honours) in Physics.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is simple. A student needs to understand the material delivered rather than 'learn' it. Thus, I emphasise explaining the different notions, through applicable examples and non-technical interpretation, always adjusting my methods to the needs of each different student.

Stamatios is a great educator. He is generous with his time and really cares about his students. His teaching style is motivating and shows that he has a lot of experience and confidence in working with students. In addition to a statistics module, Stamatios also helped me with my postgraduate dissertation project. I have known Stamatios since 2013, when he first helped me with my doctoral thesis. I was coming from a social sciences background and had little understanding of statistics. Stamatios made sure that I really understood the foundation before we moved on to more complicated stuff. His teaching style gave me a lot of confidence; he was patient, knowledgeable, generous with his time and really cared about my progress. Importantly, he cared about making me understand in depth the concepts we were working on before putting them to practice.
