About Edina
I am a tutor for you! With twenty years experience in academic tutoring, I have helped numerous students to hand in their work on time, and have fun in the process.
In my role as Academic English Tutor at the University of Arts (2004 - 2014), my aim was to minimise the disadvantages international students might experience when performing academically in English. Themes we covered: how to write essays, reports, plan and give presentations, make academic applications, how to organise study time, the best use of different research methods etc.
As Academic Support and a note-taker for deaf students, I successfully supported many students in a wide variety of courses, from sciences (maths, physics, statistics), social sciences (sociology, psychology and counselling), IT and business to arts and humanities. Issues of confidentiality and privacy as well as having person-centred approach in dealing with students were important ethical factors underpinning this post.
My performance in this role was recognised when I was given Hackney Community College award for special achievement in 2003. This was a recognition of a two-year period of support of a blind and disabled student on a Counselling course.
