About Elizabeth
Throughout high school, college, and now post- grad, I have worked with students of varying ages and academic subjects. I have mostly worked with students of elementary ages with their homework and preparation for tests. I also have worked one-on-one with many students in middle school mathematics. Additionally, I am currently working as an AmeriCorps Member through City Year New Hampshire. My job is to tutor students who sit just below grade level to help them finish the year strong and bfs prepared for the following year. I will continue with this position for the 2017-2018 school year.

As a tutor, I encourage my students to have a drive for their work. Regardless of their interest in the specific subject, a teacher can never make a student want to do their work. I push my student to work hard, but also coach them to ensure their success. I am a very organized teacher and believe that helps my students to succeed if they know what to expect and when. My tutoring sessions aren't overly structured as they are not supposed to replace class time, my sessions have a general focus, and are then led by the student and their understanding of the material. I feel it is important to have a strong distinction between in class work and tutoring sessions and it is the job of the tutor to work, in addition, to what is happening in class, to support that work, not replace it.

Details
I generally charge $25 an hour but I am willing to negotiate for the right circumstance. I only charge a travel feel if I drive outside of Manchester, generally about $5 depending on location. Again, this is negotiable and open for discussion.
