About Katie
I am a second-year medical student and an Alberta Diploma honors graduate. I also graduated with the Full International Baccalaureate Diploma. I have a strong academic background in science and a genuine passion for biology, which I enjoy teaching in a clear and engaging way.
Alongside my academic studies, I have experience teaching piano, which has helped me develop patience, communication skills, and the ability to explain concepts in different ways depending on the learner. I also play classical guitar and piano, and hold a first degree black belt in Taekwondo, which reflects my discipline, consistency, and commitment to personal growth.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, and traveling, which have helped me become a well-rounded and thoughtful communicator. I am professional, confident, and dedicated to helping students understand difficult topics and improve their exam performance through structured guidance, diagrams, and simple analogies.

I am a first-year medical student and IB Diploma graduate with the Alberta High School Diploma. I offer tutoring in high school biology and some chemistry, with a strong focus on clear understanding and exam preparation. I am passionate about biology and enjoy helping students build confidence in difficult topics.
I also have experience teaching piano, which has helped me develop strong communication and teaching skills. I aim to adapt my explanations to each student’s learning style and make complex concepts easier to understand using diagrams, analogies, and step-by-step explanations.
My lessons are focused on improving both understanding and exam performance, not just memorization. I can help students prepare for tests, strengthen weak areas, and develop effective study strategies.
