About Charles
I am a composer in Oceanside with a B.A. in Music from University of California, San Diego. I have written compositions played in California, Massachusetts, and Switzerland. I have been playing guitar and bass for 12 years, with performances ranging from concert recitals to birthday party gigs. My background in composition finds itself in my teaching through an emphasis on learning to use your ear.

I have taught children as well as adults from ground zero. As we learn the guitar, I will be walking us through a particular song you might want to play now or one day, and we will use the elements of that song to learn about other fundamentals of music that will help you understand music/your instrument on a deeper level. Whether you just bought a guitar yesterday or have been playing for years and want to learn sheet music or need help working through a riff , I can adapt my lessons for your needs.

Perfect! Very friendly, Excellent teacher!
Perfect! Wow, Charles was amazing! He was punctual, professional, and dove right into the lesson! He had drills and tips, and his skill-base was evident.
