About Jacob

I have been Playing for 16 years and teaching for 8. I earned my bachelors and masters degree from the Leeds Conservatoire. My students have ranged from ages 5 to 80, and have been from beginner to professional level. I can adapt well to different learning styles and create personal teaching methods for every individual student. Personally, I have studied under many famous classical guitar masters including: Tillman Hoppstock, Martin Fogel,
Graham Devine and Peter Batchelar.

About the lesson

My method differs between students, as music is a very individual art. Some students prefer to learn visually and some aurally. If you are interested in learning to read music then I will also include this into our lessons. My first aim is always to make lessons enjoyable and interesting, no matter the level of the student. I always try to get a handle on the styles of music that my students are inspired by and incorporate them into the lessons, often learning a lot my self in the process. Lastly, I am pretty easy going and accommodate the pace that different students learn, but still try to inspire as much creativity and practice that I can :)
