About John-Mark

I am a solicitor, with many years of fee earning experience. I was admitted to the roll in 2012 and have previously been employed by both a number of Legal 500 law firms and as an in-house solicitor. My practice has principally revolved around general civil / commercial and housing litigation (including Court advocacy), but I also hold significant experience in other areas of legal practice. I have been fortunate enough to act for a diverse client base, ranging from vulnerable individuals on a legal aid basis, all the way up to FTSE 100 organisations. I have pastoral experience, having previously been responsible for the supervision of paralegals and trainee solicitors etc. In addition to this practical experience, I previously served as a University of Law Mentor, assisting students who have proceeded to secure Training Contracts at city law firms. I am published and have previously written for both academic journals and legal press publications.

About the lesson

Lessons will be customised and tailored to your individual needs and goals. Prior to each lesson, I will communicate with you to ensure that the subject matter you wish to address is sufficiently identified. We can then both ascertain how to get the most out of our session(s). In all cases my aim is to engage and encourage students, to the point they become confident in areas that previously seemed intimidatingly complex. I am happy to assist in a broad range of tuition areas, including but not limited to: - A-Level Law - LLB (foundation subjects and elective subjects where I possess relevant experience) / LLM - LPC (compulsory modules; elective modules where I possess relevant experience and practical skills components) / PGDL - Coursework / Dissertation Review - Legal employment advice and guidance (e.g., CV and Training Contract Application review and general legal careers advice) - Introduction to the English legal system for foreign students The above list is non-exhaustive and I happy to assist with any assignment with respect to which I hold the appropriate skillset and level of knowledge. I offer a free ½ hour consultation, prior to commencing lessons.
