About Eraj

Hello! My name is Eraj, and it is nice to meet you! I am currently majoring in Biochemistry at Florida International University. In high school, I strived to take the most rigorous courses the school offered. This includes AP Psychology, AP Chemistry, AP Statistics, AP World History, AP U.S History, AP Language and Composition, and 8 other Advanced Placement courses. I created a peer study group where I taught students complex subjects, and they peer-reviewed one another on the lesson taught. This included college-level math/reading, high school-level algebra, and biology. I also joined a tutoring organization where I would tutor middle school students before school for half an hour every day. This experience was for 3 years! The peak of these experiences was getting to know every student. Every child is truly brilliant and has a story behind them. My favorite part about what I do is seeing a child's face light up when they finally understand a concept. They soon understand that the lesson is not as hard as it seems and gain self-confidence. This confidence keeps me going. I also became an Assistant teacher for 4 years! The grades I would teach or substitute for include 3rd grade through 8th grade. I would create the content on PowerPoint or encourage interactive-based learning. At the end of the day, I love what I do. Out of the several subjects I teach, science will always be my favorite. In the past few years, I have joined a variety of student clubs and organizations that enhance student learning and give many opportunities in the science field. This includes the National Science Honor Society and internships during the pandemic where I engaged students in learning when their teachers couldn't, the National Math Honor Society, an Academic Honor Society, and more! I currently am a teacher at Kumon where I help students comprehend English, read, write, and learn math on every level. I can definitely help you with what you need!

About the lesson

If you want to fully grasp a concept and want to learn quickly, I'm the right fit for you! I can tutor Kindergarten through 12th-grade courses including introductory Level college courses. I am currently an undergraduate Biochemistry Major who has a love for science. Although there are resources online, students gain a better understanding when another person is breaking down the concepts and explaining it to them. They can ask questions, gain a deeper understanding, and the knowledge sticks with them. This is what I strive to do. I understand every child learns differently and after working with numerous students, I am able to shift my lesson plan to fit your needs. Whether that's going through everything fast, or starting with the basics. Other tutors may be able to tutor in your child's subject, but they don't have the constant experience working with multiple learning abilities, tips and tricks, or skills to be able to efficiently get a message across. With my experience, I can do all 3. I usually start off by asking a student if they have any questions, then start jumping into the lesson plan. I help the student digest the lesson bit by bit. Then I give a lot of practice problems on that subject so they know what to expect and how to succeed. This is the basic plan unless a different route has to be taken. Thank you!
