About Mathilde
I’m Mathilde, French, doing an MSc in Engineering at Imperial College London. I learned maths in the French prépa (Ginette ECS - scientific section) and at ESSEC Paris. I worked for five years in a London fintech, using data analysis and programming (Python, SQL). I’m based in Hackney but can also teach in South Kensington. I use clear theory and hands-on exercises in every lesson. I help students learn key ideas and build the confidence to solve real problems—with simple explanations, practical tasks, and ongoing support.

Initial Assessment: I start by evaluating the student's current level and identifying specific weaknesses in their mathematical understanding. For concepts not mastered in class, I break them down using multiple approaches—conceptual reasoning, visual aids, graphs, and practical examples—until the student grasps the concept. We work through sequenced exercises, starting with foundation problems and gradually increasing difficulty. Each type of problem is revisited across sessions to strengthen mathematical intuition and build lasting understanding.
