About Pryan
Hi, I’m Pryan! I’m a UCL Chemical Engineering graduate with a strong academic background in Mathematics, having achieved A grades in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-Level*, as well as a Grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics.
I have over 3 years of tutoring experience, working with students from KS1 and KS2 all the way through to GCSE, AS and A-Level. I started tutoring because I genuinely enjoy helping students reach the point where a topic that once seemed difficult finally makes sense.
Alongside tutoring, I currently work as a Systems Safety Engineer, where I regularly use analytical thinking and structured problem-solving. This has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly and logically.
I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and I understand that students have different abilities and levels of confidence in maths. My aim is not only to help students achieve their academic goals, but also to help them become more confident in their own mathematical ability.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual ability, learning style and goals. I begin by identifying any gaps in understanding before breaking difficult topics down into clear, manageable steps. Rather than simply showing students the answer, I encourage them to understand the reasoning behind each method so they can confidently solve similar problems independently.
Lessons typically involve a mixture of concept explanations, worked examples, guided practice and exam-style questions. For GCSE, AS and A-Level students, I also focus heavily on exam technique, identifying common mistakes and developing effective problem-solving strategies.
I have over 3 years of tutoring experience and have taught 40+ students across KS1, KS2, KS3, GCSE, AS and A-Level Mathematics. Of the 40 students I taught through MyTutor, 38 achieved their target grade.
Whether a student is struggling with the fundamentals, aiming to improve their grade or working towards top marks, I adapt the pace and difficulty of each lesson accordingly. Most importantly, I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and gradually becoming confident, independent mathematicians.
