Each lesson is tailored to the student’s individual needs, learning style, and academic goals. I focus on creating a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in the subject. Lessons typically include a combination of topic explanation, worked examples, exam-style questions, and active recall techniques to strengthen understanding and improve long-term memory. I also adapt my teaching approach depending on the student’s ability level and pace of learning. For GCSE and secondary school students, I place a strong focus on exam technique, problem-solving skills, and identifying weaker areas to help students make consistent progress and achieve higher grades. I provide structured lessons, personalised resources where needed, and regular feedback to help students stay motivated and track their improvement.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Deborah — a dedicated secondary school tutor with 7+ years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. I specialise in Maths, Biology and Chemistry, and I currently studied PharmSci at university, giving me strong scientific knowledge and a deeper understanding of how to explain difficult concepts clearly. I provide personalised lessons tailored to each student’s learning style, whether they need help building confidence, improving grades, preparing for GCSE exams, or strengthening their understanding of core topics. I have experience supporting: •KS3 students and GCSE students (of mixed abilities, including students needing extra support and high-achieving students aiming for top grades). My lessons are patient, structured and engaging, with a focus on making students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I provide tuition for Maths, Biology & Chemistry and have over 7 years tutoring experience. I make personalised lesson plans & resources, offer online and/or in-person sessions available (depending on where you live) and provide a supportive and confidence-building teaching style.
