About Vasiliki
I teach cello, piano, music theory and composition to any age, for any style of music. I hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have over 15 years’ experience teaching both privately and in London schools through institutions such as the Guildhall School of Music and Hackney, Southwark and Waltham Forest Music Services. I have prepared many students for ABRSM/Trinity graded exams up to Grade 8+, foundation and undergraduate programmes in cello, piano and music theory with a good record of success. I have also taught beginner violin and GCSE and AS/A Level Music. I am classically trained at Masters level in cello and piano, theory and composition, having studied at the University of Athens and Goldsmiths College, University of London. I have also received external training from ABRSM London Conferences, the Learning Trust, NSPCC and others. Alongside teaching, I am a performer and composer, specialising in experimental, improvisational and collaborative/multi-media projects. I also play traditional Greek, Turkish and Middle Eastern music. I have over 200 hours' experience teaching online and have found it an ideal platform to reach students around the world.

My teaching often involves a degree of improvisation and music theory, as well as repertoire, as I believe that these are an important part of learning music. My aim as a teacher is to instil a love for music to my students. Ultimately, I want to help them become independent learners by showing them how to think critically and how to break down any challenge into achievable components. I have put careful consideration into my online teaching set-up to ensure that my students' learning is not negatively affected by distance - for example, I use a visualiser during piano lessons so my students can clearly see what my hands are doing.

Miss Viki has been teaching my daughter for over a year , she is great with kids , very considerate and a highly knowledgeable and talented musician
Vasiliki has been teaching my daughter since she was 5 years old. She is fun and patient too, helping my now 6 year to play her cello beautifully!
She also helped me to brush off my skills on playing the cello during the last lockdown which was great.
We cannot recommend Vicki enough, so thankful for all the music she has brought to our house.Vassiliki has been my tutor since I decided to learn playing the cello during the first lockdown. Establishing a relationship remotely and actually learning as a beginner is not easy but Vassiliki's expertise as a cellist and teacher and her relaxed but watchful style made things look less daunting and helped with progressing and enjoying the instrument. I would recommend Vassiliki's lessons unquestionably.
Viki has been teaching me for some months now and has done a brilliant job of turning me from a complete beginner into someone who can read and play music! Couldn’t recommend her more highly.
Viki has been teaching cello to my 11 year old son online for the last 12 months. Initially I was not sure how much he could learn through online but he has improved significantly. Viki is patient and flexible. Glad we found her!
Vasiliki (Viki) taught one of my sons cello for several months and both of my sons music theory over the summer vacation, with my 10 year old making enough progress to pass his Grade 5. Viki worked systematically on cello exam pieces with my 8 year old and used a range of practice techniques to help him progress. Instructions were clear, he knew what to practice for the next lesson, and he made rapid progress. I am happy to recommend Viki.
Viki is a great tutor - she listens to where you are at and where you want to be and figures out how best for you to get there - and is comfortable either teaching from a book or just by ear.. definitely a great choice of tutor who IL be sticking with for future classes!
