About Laura
I have already tutored students in Maths and Sciences at KS3 level, providing them with more techniques and easier methods for problems as well as giving them more practice questions to enhance their knowledge.
I have been turning up reliably and punctually each week engaging with the students and working through any problems to ensure they understand the concepts.
I have also been a tutor at my local study centre Kumon so I am experienced in working with young children, tutoring maths and English. Also, I have been a Maths Mentor at Alleyns School for the past 2 years so feel confident with working with children to ensure they achieve to the best of their abilities.

I am a year 13 student at Alleyn’s whose sixth form I joined last year as I gained a full academic scholarship. I am studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Philosophy and have firmed an offer at Kings College to study Maths & Philosophy in September 2020 so I am confident in tutoring Maths and English.I can also tutor all the sciences: Biology, Physics and Chemistry for up to GCSE level.
I previously attended Newstead Wood Grammar School for years 7-11 so I am familiar with the 11+ entrance exams so I am confident in tutoring for them. I completed my GCSEs in 2018 where I took the new 9-1 grades GCSE specification and achieved mostly 8s and 9s (equivalent to A* and A**s) iin all my subjects. These were my results:

I believe that tutoring should be a more personal form of education and I always encourage the student to ask questions on content they don’t understand. I provide students with many practice questions and guidance to ensure that they have more success in both understanding the topics and in exams.

Laura has impressed me tremendously since her first day here. Mentoring younger pupils in Maths has given Laura the chance to enjoy passing on her enthusiasm and giving us the opportunity to benefit from her skills both in Mathematics and in working with pupils across a wide range of ability.
She was natural in her role as a volunteer tutor and related very well to the team around her. Laura was able to work independently to deliver aspect of the events and was also a good team player working with staff. Laura worked very well under pressure and keeps her cool when challenged.
