About Li
I’m a friendly and patient music tutor who loves helping beginners discover the joy of playing piano. With ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano, Cello, and Music Theory, plus a Distinction in Advanced Choral Singing, I bring solid musical training with a warm, approachable teaching style. I’m especially good at building rapport with kids, and I make lessons fun, engaging, and confidence-boosting. I teach a mix of pop and classical pieces, keeping learning enjoyable while building strong foundations. Based in Glen Waverley, VIC, I’m committed to helping every student feel supported, motivated, and excited about music.

Lessons are typically 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and level.
My Teaching Approach
I teach beginner piano and music theory using a fun, modern, and flexible approach. I combine pop songs, classical pieces, and basic technique so students stay engaged while building strong musical foundations. I focus on helping students enjoy playing music from day one while gradually improving their reading, rhythm, and confidence.
Qualifications & Experience
I have a strong background in both music training and teaching. I’ve taught beginner piano and music theory to children, teens, adults and mature adults, and I design lessons that are simple, enjoyable, and tailored to each student’s needs.
I hold ABRSM Grade 8 qualifications in Piano (2015), Music Theory (2018), and Cello Performance (2023), as well as a Distinction in Advanced Choral Singing (2011).
I teach students of all ages and am especially good with young children and budding music enthusiasts.
Location: Glen Waverley, VIC.
