About Conor

I am an experienced piano player and tutor. I grew up with a fondness for music and a natural talent for playing instruments, which was nurtured by my amazing parents. I am a keen music theory and music production nerd, and I love imparting my knowledge on to my students. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, from classical and jazz to folk and rock, being Irish I'm naturally fond of a bit of Trad as well. As a tutor you can expect to have some fun while learning. I like to have a bit of a laugh and keep my students engaged, which will help through the more difficult elements of theory and technique.

About the lesson

I like to keep my lessons fun and engaging, while also making sure that the student understands the instrument and the key concepts of practice and theory. While I have structure I like to follow and a trusted assortment of exercises and pieces to aid in development, I still manage to tailor my lessons to the individual. I currently have students ranging from 6-86 years old, from absolute beginner to Grade 8. Some of my students want to delve further into classical music and go through the grading system, while others just want to play their favourite songs. I cater to anyone who is willing to learn and practise, regardless of age and ability. I have my Grade 8 in practical piano through LCM. I hold a BA and an MA in music related subjects. I have plenty of tutoring experience, currently working for multiple schools of music in and around Manchester, as well as having private students. I would prefer to teach in person at my studio room in Manchester, but can teach online as well.
