About Deffy
Playing the piano is more than just practicing scales or learning notes. It is connected to many aspects of life. Music has always been a place where I can find peace, stay calm, and reconnect with myself whenever I feel overwhelmed or distracted. I hope my students can experience that same joy and comfort through music.
As someone who didn't have the best experience learning piano when I was younger, I understand how challenging it can be to stay motivated. That experience has shaped the teacher I am today. I use patience, encouragement, and a sense of humor to create lessons that are enjoyable, supportive, and tailored to each student's personality and learning style. My goal is to help students build confidence while developing a lifelong love for music.
Outside of music, I enjoy running, sailing, photography, and interior design. I believe every student is on their own unique journey, and I would love to support and encourage you wherever you are in yours.

Every student learns differently, and I believe piano lessons should be enjoyable, encouraging, and tailored to each individual's goals and learning style. Having experienced both the challenges and rewards of learning piano myself, I understand how important patience and positive encouragement are, especially for beginners.
I have completed AMEB Grade 6 (A+) and Grade 7 (B+), studied VCE Music Performance, and continue to develop my own musicianship through cello studies. Alongside teaching, I regularly perform at concerts and university events, allowing me to bring real performance experience into my lessons.
I teach children, teenagers, and beginner adults, whether they are learning for enjoyment, preparing for AMEB examinations, or building confidence through music. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students not only develop strong musical skills but also enjoy the process of learning and gain confidence in themselves.
