About Matthew
I am a full-time HLTA and P.E Teacher at a primary school in Stoke-on-Trent and have worked in schools for nearly 9 years. I have also coached sports teams locally and worked for the Staffordshire Moorlands Council as an apprentice Sports Coach. As well as seeing young people succeed, my two main passions are the written word and physical health and wellbeing. My extensive knowledge of the primary school curriculum, especially in these two areas, would be extremely useful to all children, no matter the target they are expected to achieve.

My teaching methodology follows the idea that 'one size does NOT fit all'. Every child learns in a slightly different way. They key thing is that they can ALL learn. As far as I see it, my job is to tap into the most effective learning method for that particular child and to mould my teaching around them. I also believe that an interest in learning and fun go hand in hand. It's fairly simple. If I child enjoys their learning, they are much more likely to progress. I also believe that a healthy body means a healthy mind. If any guidance is needed regarding physical health, I will be more than happy to provide it, without pressing the issue.
