About Mariam
I am a 26-year-old Psychology student at Deakin University with more than seven years of experience working with children aged 2 to 15. I genuinely enjoy working with children and have developed a strong understanding of how to communicate with different ages, personalities, and learning needs. I am patient, friendly, responsible, and encouraging, and I enjoy helping students feel comfortable and confident while learning.
I have experience supporting children with their schoolwork, English, Math, and general learning activities. Growing up and living in different cultural environments has also helped me communicate comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds. I speak Turkish, Farsi, and Pashto fluently and also offer Turkish lessons to both children and adults. As a Psychology student, I am particularly interested in understanding how people learn, develop, and build confidence. I aim to create a positive and supportive environment where every student feels comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.

My teaching approach is friendly, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning pace. Lessons typically last 60 minutes and include clear explanations, practical activities, homework support, and opportunities to ask questions. I am currently studying Psychology at Deakin University and have previous experience tutoring children and supporting them with their schoolwork. I teach primary school students in English, Maths, and general homework support. I also offer Turkish language lessons for children and adults, from beginner level onwards. My aim is to help students build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy learning.
