About Jay
I self-learned most of my subjects from secondary to now in degree. I want to teach because teaching fills me with fulfillment of helping others, allowing me to take what I struggled learning with and transform them into practical advice and tips so that I can hopefully make the life of that someone who is struggling to adapt to the shift of academic challenges easier. Besides that, I am looking to gain more experience in teaching and earn money as a side hustle.

Teaching Methodology & Approach
My principle of teaching revolves around ensuring that the students understand the concept of the topic: the application, the usefulness, and how this will be applied in future topics before letting them dive into calculations or complex formulas. This teaching style is not fixed for every student. If a student only cares about answering questions, I will skip over the boring yaps and go straight to giving shortcut methods; and if a student cares about mastering the subject, I would deliver more concrete explanations of theories.
Instead of relying on long, tedious methods, I share what works for me and how I understand these particular concepts. The exact shortcuts and efficient problem-solving techniques that worked for me through my experiences and trials and errors, which are especially handy for subjects like Additional Mathematics. Furthermore, I guide students on how to responsibly and effectively integrate AI tools into their study routines to accelerate learning, retain concepts better, and boost academic improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
I am 19 years old by the time of 2026. Being much younger allows me to communicate easily on the same wavelength as newer generation students and people around my age.
Academic credentials:
-IGCSE: 6A*s
-Foundation in Science & Technology: 4.0 GPA
-Degree: Currently maintaining a 3.8 GPA in Bachelor of Robotics Engineering at Sunway University
I have practical tutoring experience teaching Java Programming, Mathematics, and Electric Circuits to people close to my age.
Lesson Structure & Duration
Lessons typically run between 1 to 2 hours, but can be extended depending on the complexity of the topic or upcoming exam preparations. Classes focus first on conceptual understanding, followed by practical calculations and smart shortcut application.
