About Stuart
I am a science teacher with over 10 year's experience teaching in secondary schools.
I have taught biology, chemistry and physics up to GCSE level and chemistry to A level. I have also taught year 6 science.
Since leaving teaching to do more childcare, I have taught groups of home educated children from the ages of 4-12. I enjoy teaching these children as I have adapted my lessons to what they want to learn and done several engaging activities with them such as making a model digestive system, a model solar system from play-doh and an organ dissection.
I also produce material for educational publications and websites including textbooks and teacher guides.
In addition to science, I also write articles on gaming and I write gamebooks.

I find it important to work with my students and to listen to what motivates and interests them. I link the science content to their interests them and make links between the content and their interests. This makes it easier to remember.
I also seek out my students' misconceptions and correct them. This leads to a deeper understanding of the subject content.
I am an enthusiastic, dedicated, patient and caring teacher who seeks to maximise my students' potential.
I think that preparing young people for the future is important and so I also teach content based on what may affect young people when they become adults. This includes the basic theory behind and possible implications of climate change, artificial intelligence, genetic modification, colonisation of space and food production.
