About Shirley
I have been a teacher since 1989, working in Singapore schools with classes as big as 40. Understanding the learning needs of my students gives me the opportunity to devise plans and strategies to reach out to them. A safe environment where the students know they can learn and grow from their mistakes, they learn to overcome their weakness and enjoy the learning process, is an essential factor I thrive to provide.

I assess the learning ability and challenges faced by the students before thinking of strategies to bring about deep learning. I work with my students on the fundamentals of the concepts and then on application. To gain feedback on the students' learning process, the students are challenged to apply what they learn through problem solving.
