About Ken
Quick, lasting and layman instruction on topics that generally require hours of studying or attendance in courses. Personal help to be more accomodating whether it is achieving a major or just a prerequisite with some lasting value once education is finished.
Helping those who do not know how well they can understand concepts - like needed in my own career - to be able to adapt to seemingly confusing syllabi. Taking concepts in practical bites, which are more able to be remembered, can be carried not only into testing but into one's career. This helped me tremendously with gifted professors, and I have passed it to many others.
My brother in law had to take classes in order to be accepted into his new major in Business. Those classes, dreaded by all (myself included at the time) were Intro to Accounting and Managerial Accounting. After sessions of real-life examples from my career, tips from professors who supported me, etc. I realized I could help. The simplicity that can be applied to something as complex but boring as a balance sheet or cash flow analysis is unfounded in colleges, and when I recognized this I hoped to share it.
Bachelor Degrees in both Accounting and Finance. CPA license holder, passes on all exams first try. Training in SOX compliant financial statement issuances, internal controls, System administation for SOX controlled programs.

Understand struggles with required coursework, then focus on creating the groundwork required to make the rest of the courseload(s) easier. The foundation is key - not focusing on a short term band-aid but rather a long term understanding of what to expect.
Very early on Business students needing Accounting prerequisites. Also a handful of Accounting majors needing support in more complex Intermediate courses prior to being able to graduate. Some students in Finance majors who needed support in their analysis, homework etc. as this also ties in to the Accounting courses often.
Focus on your future, and how long your tutoring should be effective. We are here for all levels but would not waste your time or our own if it will not be relative.
A friend from another country needed to pass the CPA exam to keep their job as a security, and wanted help as the language barrier plus working was too much. Once passing all 4 exams with some suggestions and ongoing support, they received their license while still pending on their citizenship.

For one-time, the fee is $40/hr as many would like support for a single assignment or exam. Ongoing, scheduled appointments convenient for the student can be as low as $25/hr as we cover the semester.
