About Amy
It is my strong background in acting, psychology, and coaching, coupled with my passion for teaching that sets me apart. Not only a talented actor myself, I have also been in the film and television production world for over 25 years. I have taught acting to children and adults of all ages. I have been a private acting coach to child stars in feature films as well as performed in several independent films myself.
Not only a talented actor, I have also been in the film and television production world for over 25 years.
My experience in the film and television industry has been extensive from producing independent films to developing creative marketing strategies and public service announcements for established non-profits agencies, & corporate clients.
I have a passion for the creative / artist in each and all of us. I believe the artist's spirit will change the world.
Acting and teaching acting has brought me the greatest joy. Seeing the confidence build in students is my why. Some come in as shy kids and leave with their head held high and the voices strong.

The first thing I like to do is find their 'why'. Why acting, what draws them to it. (Question change depending on the age)
Then I like to gauge where they are in their on their acting journey and comfort level. Do they like comedy, drama, improv, monologues? (What would they like to work on)
Then we work on acting exercises, for each level.
I have a set curriculm/ exercises for each student level of acting.
For the little kids I love to incorporate reading into our acting classes, and art. Helping them become confident readers is my favorite bonus! They alsoget to create their own costumes and such.
I love working with indentifying beats, objective and tactics in scenes with the more advanced actors.
I have a Bachelars of Art, Theatre & Psychology UNCC (2009).
I was classically trained at the University of Tennessee (1995)
I also have 25 years in the film and television industry, producing, directing, and casting actors.
