About Oryana
I have been an Actor for over 25 years. I started in Musical Theater then progessed through Contemporary to finding my place in Shakespeare and hold a BA in Theater from Columbia College, Chicago.
I love acting, it is my passion and what I was born to do. It is telling a story through self exploration, using your body and emotions to create a world that breathes in a place that is safe.
I've been teaching through a theater program at a middle school near me for just over a year and now directing/assistant directing a few shows during the school year season.
My focus is Acting Basics, Character Development, Vocal Expression and Shakespeare.
I wanted to hear the kids at my daughters middle school when they were on stage in a show and I also realized even though I'm raising my daughter on my own does not mean I have to put aside my passion for Theater. I can teach and still feel fufilled.
I hold a BA in Theater with a concentration in Acting from Columbia College, Chicago.
I have been in a variety of shows over the last 25 years ranging from Musical Theater to Shakespeare.

I'll talk with the student for a bit try to gage their interest and attention level. I'll start with warm-ups, always, then I'll work them through their material.
I work a lot with Middle School kids. Some are super outgoing and can commit to the action or scene with little direction and others need a bit more coaching and leading to break out of their shell.
Acting can be intimidating, maybe a bit embarrasing or awkward at times be sure that whomever you choose, you are comfortable with.

I charge $40 per hour One on One.
Time frames to consider:
An hour for a 1 Minute Monologue
An hour and a half for a short two person scene (2-3 pgs for Cold Read Auditions)
Group Lessons ( 2+ students) TBD based on level and material.
