About Kathy
My service stands out in the way that it's affordable and flexible. I'm open to new ideas, I'm nice & chill since I come from a big family so I feel we will connect easily. I always have the support of my family so in case there's something I haven't seen in the new curriculums they are welcome to chime in to help you out. It is also a nice way to make friends as well.
I enjoy seeing the progress kids make while learning. I like to see the little smiles they have when they realize they got the answer right. I love kids, they're great to work with and they generally want to learn more.
I started around 6th grade, there was a tutoring club and I tutored students in my class if the teacher noticed a drop in their test grades. One of the kids I tutored, he had gotten a 70 in their last test and then when he took the makeup he scored a 90. I've always like tutoring because I enjoy seeing people make progress in their work. I continued tutoring in 9th grade and then again this year.
My last math course was pre-calculus. A lot of the coursework these past 3 years is repetitive in relation to the math courses I took when I was in elementary and middle school.

My typical process for working with a new student is to let them talk to me about what they like in regards to methods. At first, I'll let them solve the problems themselves and allow them space to tell me their confusion or any questions they have. I'll walk them through their mistakes and then bring up a new problem that they can work on. I don't want my students to be afraid to communicate. I learned this last year that many students are sometimes afraid to ask questions because it may make them feel like they aren't smart enough but asking questions makes you smarter.
I've worked with all ages. I'm the oldest of 5 kids so I have had a lot of experience these past years. From the grades of 1-10.
Be open to learning new methods. Each teacher has learned up to 5 different methods on how to teach you the subject and how to solve it. If you prefer one method or solved it differently from the other methods mentioned then tell your teacher. It be might of good use to other students. Help one another in your education and your teacher's education because there is something to learn everyday.

Yes, because of the global pandemic going on I thought it would be reasonable not to charge too much so I charge $8 for the grades 1-3 and $10 for the grades 4-6 per hour.
