About Vanessa
I am an educational sign language interpreter. I have been in this field for 20 years. I would like to help bridge the gap between the Deaf and hearing world through sign language classes. I teach via Zoom, my classes are fun well organized and provide practice time in class to help develop your skills in a safe fun environment.
What makes my service great is that I am friendly, easy going. I provide a safe space so everyone feels welcomed and accepted so they can grow and learn.
I started providing lessons online due to COVID-19, as a way to supplement my income.
I hold a BA in sign language studies from Madonna University. I am also EIPA certified.

I like to get to know my students. Our first part of our lesson is to get to know you, what is your why for taking sign language classes. My classes start with an outline of what we will do. I will model what we will learn, we will practice,then each class will end with the student demonstrating what they have learned. Lastly the student will get constructive feedback.
I have worked with students from pre-K through adults.
Make sure you feel comfortable with your teacher, and they are providing opportunities for practice and feedback.
