About Charlene
Hello there! My name is Charlene and I have been signing for over 10 years. I am currently a teacher in a Deaf and Hard of Hearing program and I have about 3 years experience in tutoring. I love being able to communicate through my hands and I find ASL such a beautiful/expressive language. Deaf culture is also a huge part of the language which is something I like to share with my students. No matter what level you are at I will be able to work with you. I have the tools to teach students who have never signed before to students who are trying to sharpen their signing skills for the ASLPI or interpreting exams. The lessons I create for you will be specific to your needs. I look forward to meeting you!
I love helping people accomplish their goals. I also enjoy the opportunity to share such a beautiful language with others.

First, I ask the student questions like... What are your goals? Why are you interested in ASL? We will then have a conversation through sign language and I will be able to better understand what I can help you with. I will also give you little assignments to work on during the week which will be great extra practice. I like to teach through having fun so I try to keep the sessions lite and comforatble instead of serious. Trust me you will still learn a lot...you'll just have fun while doing it.
I have worked with children, teenagers and adults. I have also worked with families who are trying to learn ASL together.

I normally charge 40.00 for an hour session. If I have to drive I will add on the price for gas. I am open to payment plans for people that can't pay all at once.
